Apart from that, you can play single competitions on your own terms, both alone and in multiplayer mode (for up to 12 players). The main mode in DiRT 5 is described above story-driven career. As we progress, we gain experience points that unlock new stickers and other elements to use in the extensive car paint editor. Similar in nature is the Playgrounds module, which allows players to construct elaborate obstacle courses and share them with other users to fight for the best place in the ranking. In the main game modes - LandRush, Stampede, Ice Breaker, among others - we race licensed rally and off-road cars, driving on picturesque fictional routes in locations such as the USA, Brazil or Morocco.Īn addition to these traditional struggles is Gymkhana, in which we collect points by performing tricks in the arena. The latter is guaranteed by changing - often extreme - weather conditions. MechanicsĭiRT 5 has a purely arcade character - the driving model is simplified, the cars are not damaged (apart from cosmetic dents), and the races are characterized by high dynamics and effects. The player takes on the role of the former's apprentice, who gradually grows into the next star of the championship. In Career mode, we follow the adventures of two masters of the wheel, who compete against each other in the DiRT Off-Road Series competition - they are AJ and Bruno Durand, speaking in the voices of well-known game actors: Troy Baker and Nolan North, respectively. The developers paid a bit more attention to the plot than usual in the genre of racing games.
The title was developed by the Codemasters Software studio, more precisely by the Cheshire branch, which previously prepared OnRush. The production mainly develops the concepts introduced in DiRT 2 and offers a similar atmosphere. DiRT 5 is the next installment of the well-known racing series devoted mainly to rallies - depending on the counting method, it is the fifth, eighth (including DiRT Rally and Showdown) or thirteenth (adding the Colin McRae Rally games, from which DiRT is derived) part.
